02-01-2020 OTTAWA, ON – The Shaw Centre is pleased to announce that it is the first convention centre globally to offer its clients and attendees, its very own chocolate profile. This one-of-a-kind offering will allow the Centre to provide its clients with something that they cannot receive anywhere else. It will be built into various items of the menu and be featured prominently within the dessert offerings. In addition, retail style bars will be created using the chocolate and sold on concessions during events which feature them.
“This initiative is just another way we are separating ourselves from the competition.” says the Shaw Centre’s President and CEO, Nina Kressler. “The chocolate is something that our clients will be able to incorporate into their events and tell their attendees that this is the only place in the world that they can find this chocolate flavour.”
The chocolate profile was chosen by the Shaw Centre’s Executive Chef, Patrick Turcot and Executive Sous Chef, Jennifer Sands. Chef Turcot and Executive Sous Chef Sands took part in Cocao Barry’s Or Noir program and traveled to a laboratory in Paris, France. It was in this Parisian studio that a blend of cocoa from Madagascar and Tanzania was put together, giving the chocolate a taste of Canadian red berries as it melts on your palette.
“We’re excited to finally announce this and to begin incorporating it into our menu, as it has been in the works for quite some time” says Executive Chef Turcot. “Having our own chocolate profile is something that our attendees deserve. With the Shaw Centre being such a beautiful and unique building, it should have its own unique high-quality chocolate.”
Behind the name, By55 Noir no1. The By55 brand is the official culinary brand of the Shaw Centre.
