At Rogers Centre Ottawa, we take pride in being more than just a venue—we are a bridge for connection, collaboration, and opportunity.
This past February, we had the honour of hosting a groundbreaking event that truly embodied these values: the Aqsarniit Trade Show & Conference. Organized by the Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce (BRCC), this gathering took place from February 17th to 20th, 2025, bringing together leaders, innovators, and cultural ambassadors from across Inuit Nunangat and Southern Canada.

A Platform for Connection and Collaboration
The Aqsarniit Trade Show & Conference transformed our venue into a vibrant hub of networking and exchange, with over 150 exhibitors and more than 1,000 delegates in attendance. Representatives from Nunavik, Nunavut, Nunatsiavut, and the Inuvialuit Settlement Region connected with southern business leaders, NGOs, and government officials, fostering valuable partnerships and discussions.
“It was a privilege to host an event of this magnitude and importance,” said Matthew Blackburn, Senior Account Manager at Rogers Centre Ottawa. “The Aqsarniit Trade Show & Conference wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of culture, innovation, and opportunity that united the North and South under one roof.”

Highlighting Economic Opportunities
A major focus of the conference was showcasing the economic potential of northern regions while creating avenues for collaboration with southern businesses. Exhibitors from diverse industries provided a unique platform for investment and growth. Through insightful panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions, delegates engaged in meaningful conversations that sparked new ventures and strengthened existing relationships.
This wasn’t just an opportunity to learn—it was a call to action. Attendees left with valuable connections, innovative ideas, and a shared vision for future partnerships that will benefit both northern and southern communities.
Showcasing Culture and Arts
Beyond business, the Aqsarniit Trade Show & Conference was a vibrant cultural celebration. The Arts Market and Performance Area, located adjacent to the main exhibition space, became a focal point for showcasing the artistic heritage of Inuit Nunangat. Delegates and visitors immersed themselves in the rich cultural traditions of the North, experiencing handcrafted goods, live performances, and storytelling that brought the spirit of the Arctic to life.

Bridging the North-South Divide
At Rogers Centre Ottawa, we strive to be a space for transformative events, and the Aqsarniit Trade Show & Conference was no exception. More than just a trade show, it created an environment where the North and South came together to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and bridge cultural and geographic divides.
From promoting northern tourism and the arts to developing new business opportunities, this event strengthened relationships and fostered mutual understanding. Southern businesses gained insights into northern markets, while northern organizations expanded their reach and partnerships in the South.
