The Shaw Centre is gearing up for one of our busiest seasons of the year! We’re anticipating more than 60 events this fall with your annual favorites and some new events too. We’re planning events of all types and from a wide variety of industries; no matter what you’re into, we truly have events that everyone can enjoy. The Shaw Centre is home to innovative and impactful events that we’re proud of and that showcase the city of Ottawa! Study and Go Abroad Fair
Calling all students! Have you ever considered studying abroad? Expand your horizons and chat with top universities, graduate schools, and professional schools from Canada and around the world; new and exciting opportunities await!

Startup Day
Calling all entrepreneurs, you’re going to want to attend StartUp Day – previously known as StartUp Day on the Hill. The theme for this year’s event is empowering Canada’s entrepreneur ecosystem. Startup Day aims to highlight entrepreneurs’ impact on fueling economic growth within the Canadian economy and how they can enable small-medium enterprises to innovate continuously and create new companies. Sit in on expert panel discussions and learn from leaders as they speak about the current state of entrepreneurship in Canada and how this impacts you and your business. Mix and mingle with like-minded entrepreneurs, government officials, and private sector representatives and create long-lasting connections! Finally, watch the event’s grand finale – the global pitch competition- where one entrepreneur will take home $75,000 to help grow their business!

CRAVE - Food & Wine Festival
Calling all foodies! Satisfy your craving for Ottawa’s best food, drinks, and company! We invite you to the centre for the highly anticipated food and wine show, CRAVE! Partake in this event that will feature world-renowned chefs and mixologists, masterclasses, professional speakers, tastings, and entertainment that will leave you craving the next one.

World Trivia Night
The Children’s Aid Foundation of Ottawa has hosted World Trivia night for 27 years, with its first year at the Shaw Centre. Help make a difference in the lives of vulnerable kids and youth in Ottawa and create a team with friends and colleagues to enjoy a fun-filled night out! Over 1,000 participants will be in attendance in teams of ten, who will compete in ten rounds of exciting trivia! Not to mention there will be various prizes and delicious food and beverage your teams can order in advance (coming soon).
Early bird registration is now open until October 11th, and regular registration closes on Friday, November 11th. Although up-front registration fees are non-existent, all teams will commit to one of two fundraising goals and must raise their minimum goals below before the registration date.
Champion Team minimum fundraising goal of $1,500
Regular Team minimum fundraising goal of $600 (early bird $500)

Steel Toes and Stilettos Gala
Calling Ottawa’s top builders, developers, tradespeople, and industry leaders! After two years of virtual events, Steel Toes and Stilettoes returns to an in-person event at the Shaw Centre. Network while supporting Habitat for Humanity, whose mission is to provide local families with affordable homeownership; all funds will go towards Habitat Ottawa’s operations for 2023.
The event will feature live and silent auctions, live entertainment, special presentations, and more!
