The start of the Rideau Canal is conveniently located right in front of our building. Lace up your skates between sessions and glide down the world’s longest skateway.

2. Confederation Park Confederation Park is the hub of Winterlude’s artistic and cultural programming. Don’t miss the stunning ice sculptures created by world-class artists during the International Ice Carving Competition. As night falls, the sculptures are illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere.

3. Snowflake Kingdom at Jacques-Cartier Park Families will love Snowflake Kingdom, a massive snow playground located just across the river in Gatineau. From giant snow slides to snow mazes and ice climbing walls, this site is perfect for kids and the young at heart. Keep an eye out for the Ice Hog mascots, the adorable ambassadors of Winterlude.

  • Beandigen Café: Snowflake Beading Workshop Back for a second year, Beandigen, an Anishinaabe-owned and -operated café in the Glebe, is hosting a beading workshop led by resident beader Jayde. Participants will create a snowflake pin to celebrate the winter season. This free event is open to all ages, but spots are limited.

 

  • Canadian Museum of History: Beaver Tales Celebrate 50 years of Canada’s official animal with Beaver Tales at the Canadian Museum of History. Discover the beaver’s historical significance, from its role in the fur trade to its influence on fashion. Through interactive exhibits, this paid event offers fun for the whole family and a fascinating look at this industrious symbol of Canadian history.
