Shaw Centre Implements Cashless Payment System

The Shaw Centre is pleased to announce that beginning on January 1st, 2020 it will only be accepting credit and debit cards as a form of payment during events. The initiative is part of a point of sale (POS) upgrade that will allow transactions to be processed at a higher rate and will include all forms of payment such as, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Tap And Go, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Union Pay, JCB as well Interac (Debit Card).

The terminal and transaction pad is one unit, completely wireless, and features a built-in printer. In addition to direct printing, the device will provide an added benefit to those individuals who are processing expense claims, as the option to have the receipt sent via email or text, will be available to them at the end of the transaction. These added features and increased forms of payment will allow our service team to process payments more efficiently and in-turn reduce lines for our guests, enhancing their experience.

“We’re excited for the implementation of these new POS terminals and the ability to serve our clients with the latest technology” says Nina Kressler, President and CEO, Shaw Centre. “We always strive to provide exceptional customer service to our clients and this new POS is just another way to do so.”

In addition to the above benefits, each terminal will be programable, matching the needs of the event. This will facilitate enhanced inventory tracking and will ultimately assist in further refining the needs of clients and creating a more sustainable building by eliminating unnecessary ordering.

Events that feature concessions, cash bars and/or coat check will have the new terminals integrated.

ATMs will remain in the building for customer convenience and to service clients who host events where vendors in attendance accept cash.
